Country music, Cumulus stations and false consciousness

The fact that there are so many country music fans that demographically - according to their socio-economic levels, get fucked by this current administration moreso than most (yet continually vote these shithogs into office) - or, the poor Dixie Chicks who got pilloried for speaking their minds by these same ignorant fucks, OR the goodamned Cumulus radio stations around the US who shitcanned their djs for ignoring the "boycott" against playing the Dixie Chicks.

Rock Is Dead Part 2

This is sorta from the first rock is dead thread that I posted which by the way was the very first post I ever made her way back about a year ago.

Anyways in the recent edition of American Heritage there is an article about the year 1964 and how that year was the "real" start of the 60's. The article started out saying that before the Beatles and before 1964 rock music was bland pop and the charts were dominated by teen idols and pop novelties. Wrong so wrong.

That is the title of Rhino's new box that comes out tomorrow. A four CD set of soul and early funk from the late 60's to mid 70's. Not loaded but all the big hits but some gems for sure. In other words another cool box we have to spend our hard earned cash on. Go to Rhino's webpage for a full track listing. Right now I dont have the time to list all the tunes.

Capitol Tower Sold

EMI has sold the famous Capitol tower to a real estate firm in NYC. This is the 50th anniversary of the tower that was built to look like a stack of records with a needle on top.

Couldnt find the name of the firm but I thought I would pass this along just the same

We are back from vacation, and I've gotta say that the only thing that made coming back appealling was seeing you-all again. Why the hades do we all live up here in the flatlands?!

We had a time fine as wine and got to see Sonic Youth, as well as this crazybeautiful Swedish prog/psych band called DUNGEN
