Webhosting

Hey,

On the last site you were talking about moving to a webhost. My hosting company just gave me a huge upgrade. 150GB storage and 1500GB bandwidth which is about a thousand times what I need, even with all the pron. If you want to move let me know and I will set you up with FTP and MySql databases and such. Only thing I can't give is shell access (though I can let you use mine if you promise to play nice). I am paid up till the end of 2007 and when my taxes come in I will be paying another three years. Let me know if you are interested.

Where?

Where are you getting hosted at?  I'm at Dreamhost and there are many rolling brownouts what with my phpBB having 20 posts per day really putting a drain on their fucking server.  I think I got 1080 gigs of bandwidth per month and 20 gigs hosted, potentially.  I think I paid $59 up front for 12 months.

Also, I complained to the nice tech peoples that my site would be unavailable while I was posting on it for like 5 to 10 minutes.  Strange.  Tech guy said that the servers have to be rebooted from time to time, like a few times a day, from my personal experiences. 

He suggested that I spend $100/month for my hosting plan and get a dedicated server.  Wouldn't it be cool to spend $1200 a year to host a 40 meg forum that 10 people read daily?  But, for $1,200.00 a year they wouldn't reset my forum as much.  I call them fuck.

I’m on the 1&1.com, which I just jumped into after seeing an ad in a mag. Right now they got a $2.99 a month deal. They’ve been fairly painless, except for their site, which is a labyrinth of infinite pain.

Just like below I use 1and 1.  Have been for over 2 and a half years now.  Only issue I"ve had is that AOL(suck) started blocking EVERYONE from recieving email from any of 1and1 domains.  Customer service is very good.  Never ran a PHP/MySQL stress test but I'm assuming they can handle the load.

My current hosting is free indefinitely, and I will have shell access, etc. soon. I really appreciate the offer, but I'll probably stick with the devils I know.

Again, thanks for the generous offer.

I mostly need a machine to manufacture spare time these days. That or a sexy robot.

Allright, it's a standing offer.  I don't really see how I can use all that space and bandwidth.  At least not legally:]  If anyone else has a project and doesn't feel like fucking around with a free host you are more than welcome to glom on to my space.
