speaking of the 80's...
I just searched on Pitchfork for Great Plains and it came up goose eggs. What gives? No love for their Ohio neighbors?!
Maybe the Ohio neighbors
Maybe the Ohio neighbors need to get something in print. I am a little befuddled by this one....

I used to have a Dumptruck t-shirt.
I liked it because it was orange. I also saw them at Wayside. Weird, huh?
I'm thinking the people
I'm thinking the people trying to get $100+ for these rarities won't be doing too well. 'He likes everything that comes out on SST, she likes everything that comes out on 4AD, likes almost anything that comes out on Homestead, I like anything I get in the mail for free!'

More thoughts on Big Dipper
More thoughts on Big Dipper from the Reader.....I think I have one of their records at home. The Reader piece mentions the song 'All Going Out Together' which I recall was a WIDR staple for awhile. Seems like Big Dipper played a New Music Night, did I go?

TOXIC 80'S!!!!!!
Or is THIS what the 80's were all about?!

I highly recommend "TAINTED." I laugh every time. Really, really bad, we're all.......OOF!
I'm so happy that somebody has made this glorious mess available online. My dear man's first recorded output (you know...other than the high school jazz band album that he and Kap'n are both on.....)

TOXIC ATTITUDE - "Stupid Teenage Music" EP
Haven't heard a record quite this primitivo-garage in
quite a while . I mean, they guys are barely out of the
basement, let alone the garage . But the lyrics are not
stupid, and as with some few records of this genre, they
come across with charm in their ineptitude, making this a
very enjoyable seven song thrash/trash disc . (TY)

where are the drum machines?
I thought that was what the '80's were all about?
Hell, there's at least a couple of Great Plains tracks free here:

The 80s were about videos
If I had a secret to tell you I would... I love Dumptruck. I saw them at Wayside too. No love for Big Dipper?

Behind the Music - Homestead Records
Something stuck with me in that pitchfork review.
"If VH1 ever decided to revive their "Behind the Music" series to focus on the Homestead/SST underground, the general plot line of every episode would go something like this...."
I actually think that is a great idea! It would be more than the standard rock band does this, follishly does something next, then have Steve Perry say he never felt like he was part of the band. INstead if they dispersed the story to an entire label, a charming label that went belly up quickly, man, I would watch that. I throughly enjoyed the Stax Records documentary on PBS. Why not take a chance with Homestead?
