I just wanted to say how nice it was to see you all recently, even if only for one somewhat overwhelming evening. Wizzybit—thank you so much for being the ultimate coordinator and hostess smack dab in the middle of the damned week! I wish we could have seen more of everyone, but the abbreviate time in-state and the demands of various families made it (still) more difficult than anticipated. Maybe sometime we can come up when it’s not a $#@! holiday with all its attendant demands. Maybe someday we can sneak up there without telling relatives. Haha. Hmmmm. The offer also remains WIDE OPEN for anyone who wants to visit. We have multiple spare double beds. Rockit.
Also, sorry if I was stuporous at the shindig on Wednesday. It made me realize how long it’s been since we socialized with a LARGE GROUP of people that we actually know. It was a little overwhelming, in the good way, but I feel bad that I was so slow to respond to conversation at various points. There were some indulgences that hadn’t been visited in a long time that left me a trifle flummoxed in the aftermath. I’m gettin’ soft!
Anyway, we love you. Yeah yeah yeah. Hanging out with y’all made me realize that the one thing our happy new life is missing is SOCIALIZING. I’ve made the New Years’ Resolution to get us outta the house more and actually hang out with the new acquaintances that we like, as opposed to endlessly saying, “Yeah, we should get together with so and so one of these days!” Thanks for reminding us that we need to get out of the house sometimes. Last weekend we actually went out to the latest local brewpub with the descendents of Jethro and some of their friends and had a damned good time and actually met some new cool people in the process. Thanks for reminding us of the importance and fabulousness of friends. No-one can match you-all, obviously, but i think we’re finding us some good gabbers to hang with!
