Oh, yeah! Freedom! I’m without the ol’ lady this weekend. Nothing but me and the cats and non-stop partying! Woo! Look at me playing a record LOUD at 10 pm!
Seen in the vicinity of downtown K’zoo around 1 PM - blowin’ through town, rockin’ it like a hurricane! He’s without the internets, but is planning on getting in touch with one of us via phone to see what’s decided for a dining location. I’ll be joining the dinner action as well (not sure if CG will stop in after she leaves BC around 7 or so). Dusty says he has no preference where dining happens - though he says he always goes for OP, or Martini’s (if it wasn’t near impossible trying to get a larger group in there on a Friday night). He just wants to see his friends! So ya’ll can call it with all that in mind.
I just gritted my teeth and made a big decision—I was in the enviable position of suddenly being wanted by TWO employers! The local hospital had offered “regular part time,” which meant that they were going to work me around 40 hours a week (though not guaranteed) and with only some benefits. Then The Amer*c*n R*d Cr*ss decided they wanted me too! Granted, I have to drive to ASheville, but the job sounds more interesting, it’s full-time and full bennies right off the bat (I can even cover Dusty semi-affordably on my health plan till he finds somethin’), and I really liked the people. ALSO, when I asked if they could bump up my pay offer a bit to offset the commute, they DID! Holy moly!
I must admit to some trepidation about tea party-ish coworkers if I had gone with the local hospital gig. The people all seem nice, but there’s a lot of conservatism in the hard core old-skool locals.
Also, Am*r*can R*d Cr*ss! What’s not to love?! The most no-profity non-profit around, it seems like. AND they totally loved me, which is a good sign. I had a vague feeling that I might have to keep my freak flag under wraps a big at the hospital.
I’ve made my acceptance call to ARC, and my “regrets” call to the hospital, so it’s official goddammit! I’m gonna be workin for the good guys!
weather permittin
