Tree are you ok?
I briefly saw a news story about a house fire in Battle Creek this morning, I didn't catch the whole thing but I believe I saw your daughter talking about it. Was your house the one that burnt, or the slightly burned one next door. The news said everyone made it out. Are you ok? Do you need anything? Report in good sir, or somebody else call and check for I do not have Tree's number.

Unscathed!
Thanks very much for your concern, but thankfully our home was not damaged. We live on a corner lot, and the house that burned was not directly across the street, but the very next one down. Sirens woke me up around 3:30am. Not unusual in my hood, but when they kept coming, I looked out the window and saw a huge fire. We all got up and watched, and prayed that the giant floating embers would not land on us. They did not.
Nobody was hurt. The house that burned had been known to my family as "the drug house" for a couple of years now. Rental property that drew a lot of "traffic," and frequent visits from the 5-0. Houses on either side were also damaged, especially the one furthest from us.
And yes, that was Beth, adding another 30 seconds to her eventual 15 minutes of fame.

Wow those photos are pretty
Wow those photos are pretty scary. Glad you all are OK. Two houses have burned on Axtell and one on Wheaton since we have lived where we live, all intense events with emergency vehicles filling up the whole block. They rehabbed the houses on Axtell, doesn't look like that is going to happen in this situation...
