I was about to send this around as an email, but I figured I’d post here since so many of the recipients are leppo board participants.

Anyway, this video of the construction of the Eames Shell chair was posted on mefi today, and I thought there would be a few people interested to see it.

Too hard to watch at work but I will definitely check it out tonight.    A classic Michigan product…

Is cool, yes?

Watched it at home yesterday. Very cool! Neato soundtrack too. The “How It’s Made” guys should cut out the narration and let a Moog do the talking.

A few months ago, the art

Submitted by timh on Tue, 12/09/2008 - 9:23am.
A few months ago, the art museum in Champagknee had a small but really intriguing Eames exhibit. There were some furniture prototypes but also a few odd creations like a full length leg splint used in hospital with its original packaging. They also projected the films Charles and Ray created. My favorite was “Jazz Kaleidescope”

The Eameses made the splints

The Eameses made the splints for the military during WW II.  Did you see the ‘Powers of Ten’ movie?  I like that one a lot….
