For those who may not know, Kalamazoo now has a curling club (www.kalamazoocurlingclub.com)!
There’s an open curling session at Wings Stadium this Saturday. Info pasted below.
If you’d like to be kept informed about curling events in Kalamazoo, be sure to visit the club website and join the email list.
Open ice, learn to curl and kids day.
Kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult curl free.
You can only watch Die Hard reruns so many times without getting a little stir-crazy. Get the kids out, get yourself out, burn off that left-over turkey and show your visiting family members what Kalamazoo is soon to be famous for. That’s right, curling. That chess match on ice.
Come learn, play a game or just gain a new appreciation for an in-law as they seal the win with an amazing hit and roll. Curling is the mortar of many families and here’s your chance to be the hero and do something different.
Saturday, Nov. 29th 6-8PM.
In the Annex at Wings Stadium.
$10 for 2 hours per person.
If you’ve never curled, all you need are some warm clothes and some rubber soled shoes (like running shoes). We’ll take it from there, give you instruction and have you curling within the hour.
The 2010 USA Curling Championships are coming to Kalamazoo, and this is your chance to find out what the game is all about. You’ll gain a new appreciation for the shots those top athletes pull off on the ice.
