Where we eatin’ tonight? All I ask is that it be downtown so I can ride my bike there. Also, if anyone wants to take a quick jaunt out the Kal-Haven between 5 and 6 let me know and we can figger out a meeting place.

rain bike
Isn’t it supposed to pretty much rain all day? It makes for a wet ass when you bike in the rain.
Anyways, yes. Where. Sprout? OP? Other sugggestions?
Well if it’s raining my
Well if it’s raining my plans might change….
Bike or cake?
I have a ridiculous desire for cake today. Just warning you. I wish there was one of those Champaign-style cupcake establishments. Or that I had my own personal Martha Stewart, at home, whipping up some cupcakes for us. But, like the rainy-butt bike ride, that’s not too likely to happen.
So, I’d better get a nutritious dinner, in case only the cake option happens. I don’t care where we go. Those with taste and preferences, get to work.
I think so.
I think so. I’m barely awake right now, and have much work to do. And I just answered the phone and found myeslf croaking to someone who must think, "When did he get a larynx hole put in?”
Yes!
I want to eat food near you all. Maybe so close that we could speak to each other.
I like the OP. I like Sprout even more, but the beer choices are limited and pricey. Plus, I’m not sure how well that works for those with kids. Still, I’d happily go there and eat curry ‘till I hurt.
I’d like to nominate third-party candidate, The University Roadhouse.
Groadhouse is fine too.

fitty-fitty
I am waivering over whether I am an equivocal maybe…
or not.
Treespeak, as usual, is good. I do like to eat my foods near you, my comrades.
Groad?
Is that a critique? If so let’s not go there.
No OFMG No Love, Know OFMG Know Love
OFMG is livin on the skinny side of payday, so this evening I will sit in my kitchen, tuck into some ramen noodles and think of you all. Oh, the probing last week was fantastic though, but I will say this: As sure as the sun rises I swear to you my friends that we shall eat again!
No critique

No critique. I love the Roadhouse. Good eats and good beers. Shorts IPA on tap…
Two to three of the Inkster Four will be there
But first, I hope your soul is on some sort of birth control, because it’s about ready to get made love to in a particulary uncomfortable way:
Look out Samantha makes her
Look out Samantha makes her return. Nope not on television unfortunatly.
In other words I am in for dinner. There are a few folks on here I havent seen in a spell so that would be nice. I would be willing to dine at OP, Roadhouse(even though both places are extremely pakced), or any other swankin’ joint.
re: That's what friends are for
I identify with the lady in salmon, first seen at :44, who is totally cracking up by the end. Also, bows!
Charlie Frosters?
When Dadmin and I read a reaaly uninformative article about Charlie Fosters in the Herald yesterday, he said someone had mentioned that place on this here forum awhile ago. I don’t remember that, and I guess nobody else does, so I’m bringing it up. The trust Weekend Scene of course had no mention of a location or a way to contact this establishment, except to say it was in downtown Kalamazoo. I know — you’re shocked! It looks like it is in the space where that "jazz club" used to be: Two stories, across from Water Street Ice Cream and adjacent to Sushiya lot, I think it called Bin 451 or District 311 or something. That’s just what we deduced from the photos, though. It could also be in the Biggs basement, for all that. No Web site (when I Googled it, the first two links were to the Herald review—ha ha!), but I bet Information has a phone number for it. Anyway, I’m reeeeally long on practicing my typing recently and really short on making a point, so here’s the link to the W. Herald’s story, so you all can learn every damn drink special and discount they offer every day and hour of the week, plus see some photos (I think there were more in the print version). But just you try to figure out their top-secret location! OH, and I just found a Gazette story, too! AND an official Web site. (Just a photo, but there’s an address, too!) I swear there wasn’t none of this when I Googled it yesterday.

From the editor, FYI:
Thank you for contacting me.This information was regrettably absent from Thursdays Weekend
Scene:
Charlie Fosters Restaurant & Pub is located in the majestic and
historically epic three-story brick building, formerly inhabited by
restaurant District 211. The address is 211 Water Street and the
phone number is 383-5660.––––-

Charlie Fosters
By Danielle DeFilippo
Western Herald
(Aaron Ulrich/Western Herald)
Charlie Fosters welcomes college students in Kalamazoo with daily drink and food specials. The restaurant and bar is new to downtown Kalamazoo, but its owners have been regulars of Kalamazoo for years. Charlie Fosters is located at 211 Water St.
That was not there yesterday.
Here’s probably why it is there today:
‘I find it odd that you would print a story (”Charlie Fosters”) that is about a new place of business yet contains no information that would allow a reader to ever find the place. No address? No phone number? No mention of the building it occupies (from the pictures in the print version, I’m guessing it’s one of those recently restored, really cool, barely-talked-about old brick buildings in downtown)? Surely the news release received by the Western Herald had a phone number, if not an address. And it appears that your photographer was actually inside the building; surely he could have taken note of the address if you had no other way to get that information. After reading the uninformed print version of this story, I Googled the name of the restaurant, and the first two hits went to your Web site. I have no connection with Charlie Fosters (other than being one of at least a few readers who want to go there but don’t know where it is, either). But I’d bet its owners and your readers would appreciate an update to the Web version of this story, one that adds something more than “downtown Kalamazoo” to describe the location.’
New food buzzword:
Urban. What does that even mean?

I wanna go to Foster Brooks’.

An "Urban Upscale Look"
I think it's code ...
… for " no community organizers."
They seem to be catering to "the college crowd," so I’m thinking they want the Abercrmbie & Fitch, hair-ironed kids, not the "organizer" types.
Heh, heh, heh!
Uncle Arthur wants a majito!

Sam, if you read my first post about Charlie Fosters in this thread, you will have heard of it. There are links in that post that take you to more information about that place. However, we are NOT going there tonight.
