What is Croyden Avenue School, and why do we need one?
- Croyden Avenue School serves students ages 2-26 with sever disabilities and autism.
- Enrollment at Croyden has increased in the last five years and is expected to continue growing. The current building is currently at capacity.
- The learning environment at Croyden is not suited to the specific needs of its students.
- The Young Adult and Early Childhood programs are also experiencing increased enrollment. These programs would move to a renovated Croyden Avenue building, where they would have adequate space for their enrollment.
Kalamazoo RESA will ask voters to consider a bond proposal to complete three new vital building projects.
- Build a new Croyden Avenue School for students with autism and severe cognitive and physical disabilities from Kalamzoo County.
- Renovate the current Croyden building to house the Young Adult and Early Childhood Programs.
- Renovate the Service Center to accomodate increasing services to local school districts.
Please Note: The average home in Kalamazoo County has a market value of $135,000. If you owned that house, you would be paying an additional $27 per year, if this passes.
I love you, and you will never fit in.
