The West Memphis Three: Is heavy metal evidence of satanic ritual murder?

Submitted by babbitt on Tue, 09/05/2006 - 1:21pm.

Is anyone familiar with this situation? Here's a fairly comprehensive and recent story from the Los Angeles CityBeat called "Life After Death" about the West Memphis Three—basically three poor white kids in Arkansas who wore black and listened to heavy metal and consequently were railroaded into satanic-ritual-child-murder convictions.

Quote:
The state’s evidence that Echols was a Satanist amounted to an expert witness in the occult who had a mail-order degree, and pentagrams Echols had scribbled in jail. The murder weapon was a clean knife that was found in a lake near Echols’ home, which resembled the knife that was possibly used at the crime.

Eventually, I believe, everything evens out. Long ago, an asteroid hit our planet and killed our dinosaurs. But, in the future, maybe we’ll go to another planet and kill their dinosaurs.
